Welcome

Welcome to Southern Community Church of Christ (SCCC) an active community of faith located in Cheltenham, a bayside suburb of Melbourne, Australia. We are a mainstream contemporary Church with a strong desire to relate the teaching of Jesus to our community. We believe we are open and accepting, welcoming and valuing people of all ages, beliefs, and backgrounds.

SCCC has a long and rich heritage over more than 160 years. Throughout that time the Church has grown and changed as the community around it has changed.

We, like all Churches of Christ, have our unique flavour as we explore what it is to be a faith community, committed to Jesus and God’s mission in our location, at this time in history and community. Southern Community could be described as having a rich heritage of generous spirituality and orthodoxy. We go deep and wide in our understanding and expression of faith and practice, connecting with people where they are at, and as people discover and experience God in many ways.

We are in partnership and share our facilities with the Cheltenham Community Centre (CCC), a ‘Neighbourhood House,’ which grew from an initiative of SCCC over 37 years ago.
